This vehicle is fully painted in 4 colour winter camouflaged scheme. Weathered and no assembling required. This vehicle is painted in winter camouflaged scheme similar to vehicles from an "Grille" SP gun of an unidentified unit in Belorussia, Winter 1944. Chalk paste was applied manually over the originally 3 coloured camouflaged vehicle as winter camouflage, making it essentially a 4 coloured camouflage. Advantage of this kind of camouflage is that the chalk can be washed away in spring/summer to restore the original 3 coloured scheme. sWS (Schwerer Wehrmachtsschlepper) or Heavy Armed Forces Tractor, was a simple half track vehicle developed and used by Germany from 1943 to 1945. It was designed to replace the SdKfz 6 and SdKfz 11. Initial release was unarmoured and like a lorry resembling the SdKfz 11, later versions were semi armoured and looked like the Sdkfz 251 in front with lorry like flatbed. Side and rear panels are make with wood planks. Later versions had the side panel made with metal screen and an additional storage container overhanging the rear panel. It was this version that the 37 mm Flak 43 auf sWS was developed. The side panel can lock flat horizontally so that there was more space for the gun operators to move around. Fully armoured versions were also developed to carry the Nebelwerfer 42. These where the only known variant developed from the sWS. An improved version continued to be produced by Tatra in Czechoslovakia after the war. Infrared Night-Vision Devices (Nacht Jager) was developed as early as 1936 by AEG and was successfully incorporated into varies fighting vehicles since 1943. From late 1944 to 1945, Panthers Ausf G fitted with night vision devices and Sdkfz 251/20 UHU fitted with 60cm Infrared search light saw combat services in both Eastern and Western Front. The night vision devices could be easily fitting onto other combat vehicles. Infrared light Images from Night Vision Devices was not as commonly depicted in Hollywood movies as red light or red filtered images. Infrared light also sometimes know as "black light" is actually thermal heat and is invisible. Visibility will defeat its purpose as night combat devices. What the Germans were likely to see through their night vision devices would most likely be something like the following picture, with the brightest area be the places that catches the most Infrared light. This model features a late fully armoured version sWS chassis with a 60cm Infrared Search Light as used in SdKfz 251/20 UHU. sWS provided a better platform for the equipment because it was fully enclosed to protect its crew and the massive power generator for the search light, not as the open topped configuration as the SdKfz 251/20. Search Light can elevate and transverse freely.
